Termotécnica introduces packaging solution for premium strawberries

Brazil's strawberry production reaches 200 thousand tons annually, with Minas Gerais and São Paulo as the leading contributors, accounting for about 66% of the total. The sector has seen growth due to new production and post-harvest technologies, enhancing economic returns. Termotécnica has introduced a packaging solution for premium strawberries, featuring a patented design that accommodates 1 kilogram of strawberries, ensuring ventilation and ample space for branding.

This packaging solution, part of the DaColheita line, is chosen by distributors for its ability to maintain fruit quality over long distances, particularly for shipments to Manaus and further distribution across the North and Northeast. The EPS material used in DaColheita packaging offers advantages over traditional cardboard, such as lighter weight, increased resistance, and cost savings in shipping.

Additionally, DaColheita packaging reduces losses from crushing, a common issue with cardboard boxes, and enhances fruit preservation by maintaining hygiene, accelerating cooling, and extending shelf life. This results in less vitamin and moisture loss, preventing residue and fungi contamination and ensuring the cold chain is not broken.
