Co Konings is CEO of Taks Handling Systems and Berkvens Greenhouse Mobility. In this role, he is responsible for the daily management and the further development of the strategy of these two companies. As part of that strategy, Berkvens showcased their brand-new Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) for bell pepper, the Paprika Single AGV, at HortiContact.
This vehicle is used for bell pepper harvesting. The bottom of the harvest container moves when more peppers are added. Once the container is full, the AGV and its container are automatically driven to the processing area and automatically tilted or placed in a warehouse to be processed later on.

Taks's systems can be connected to the AGV system to further facilitate product processing. Berkvens Greenhouse Mobility and Taks Handling Systems both already have a significant market position in the bell pepper market, this new development makes it even more interesting for bell pepper growers to save on labor.
Currently, the first two projects with the Paprika Single AGV are being implemented. One project had 20 AGVs, and the other one had 40 AGVs. Both projects are executed with a container tilting system.
