Fruit Logistica update: Day 2

Welcome to day 2 of the Fruit Logistica, the fresh produce trade show currently taking place in Berlin. Today is traditionally the busiest day of the event, and this year seems to be no different. We’ve spotted growers from all over the world: Australia, Canada, Netherlands, Korea, Morocco, you name it. And we also have some interesting novelties to share with you.

Horticultural suppliers, mainly present in hall 3.1, are hoping 2024 turns out to be better than 2023, and the first signs of a recovering market are there – but we’re not there yet. Energy, labor, and uncertain geopolitical circumstances have caused a bad investment climate, resulting in slimmer investments worldwide. Some companies report to have seen a market recovery starting from the last months of 2023, but others are still awaiting it.

Several new exhibitors could be found in the horticultural hall, and even some novelties were presented. Roam Technology, for example, launched Ambiorix, an alternative for an iron chelate that brings fully plant-available iron within reach. The product can be easily combined with fertigation and also with disinfection techniques such as activated carbon filters, hydrogen peroxide, UV, and ozone. We’ll update you more extensively after the show, as we’re currently working on our photo report, which will be published on Monday.

Roam introduced several new products. More to be published.
