Breda, the Netherlands

Leafy Hydroponics Summit 2024 to kick off on June 17-18

Leafy greens are popping off in the horti world as a sector rapidly developing with many opportunities ready to be seized. With many parties joining or interested in joining this space, Dutch consultancy firm Cultivators is organizing the very first Leafy Hydroponics Summit 2024, on June 17-18, in the Netherlands.

This two-day event will be focused on sharing the latest knowledge and innovations with horti experts and professionals. The event will be filled with seminars and panels from leafy heads, horti technicians, and financial institutions to explore the different facets of this promising space of the industry.

The event will kick off at the Van der Valk Hotel in Breda. On the first day of the event, Lambert van Horen from Rabobank will dive deep into the finances of hydroponics. His panel will be followed by Marc Celis from the breeding company Rijk Zwaan to discuss tip burn. Other topics include, for instance, lighting, with Heliospectra expert Rebecca Nordin exploring dynamic LED strategies. Automation is obviously one of the main talks of the town, with Ad Kranendonk from Flier who will talk about "The Good and Bad of Automation." After him, the very same Tim van Hissenhoven from hosting company Cultivators will touch upon cultivation systems and leafy green varieties and their impact on the company's finances. Joost Somford from JASA will discuss packaging, and Kurt Cornelissen from Hortiplan will touch upon teen leaf production.

After a much-needed coffee break, the conference will pick up again with an international panel, moderated by Sonny Moerenhout from Cultivators, with the participation of Pieter Slaman from Little Leaf Farms, Tim van Hissenhoven from Cultivators, , and Tomas Benavente from Pura Hoja.

Finally, some greenhouse talks in the last two sessions of the day, with Marc Middeldorp from VDH exploring semi-closed greenhouses and lettuce production, followed by Ton Habraken from Svensson who will discuss managing greenhouse climate while saving energy.

Bluntly put, the Leafy Hydroponics Summit 2024 will shine a light on everything leafy, from cultivation and post-harvest to business and investments.

Participation in the event is free of charge for invited guests. Click here to request an invitation.
