"Remotely fixing burners"

Producing gas burners for horticulture is a great profession but not always a simple one. Burners need maintenance and growers often don’t really know how to do this. Fine tuning the energy values is important to the efficiency of the installation and the quality of the CO2 that is used for fertilizing.

This is not a problem if your product remains within your region but with global demand for quality burners it becomes tricky. How do you check-up on the burners in Italy or America or even Russia?

Geert-Willem van Weert, Jan in 't Veen and Vincent Spanjersberg of Vitotherm during the GreenTech 2018.

Adjusting from a distance
For this reason Vitotherm wants to be able to watch along with the growers when maintenance is being done so they can advise them. Geert-Willem van Weert shows us that; “The new burner management systems contain software that has been designed so that we can’t only watch the maintenance but also make corrections remotely.”

He shows us how to change the language on the display to Chinees. “This comes in handy for growers in China. We have the same information in front of us and can both read it.”

In case something really should need manual fixing then it is only a matter of unscrewing some screws from the Vitotherm burner. All parts can be easily removed from the burners. Geert-Willem decides, “It doesn’t occur a lot but sometimes maintenance is needed or something breaks. By making the fixing easy we can help remotely.”

Low-NOx
"We produce Low-NOx burners which popularity rises on a global scale. It is the trick to burn as efficiently as possible. As much CO2 as possible and the least amount of nitrogen dioxide (NOx), so the crops can grow in the best of conditions.”
