After almost a year of demolishing and rebuilding, bell pepper nursery Duijnisveld has built a new 9 ha nursery in De Kwakel. Last Sunday doors opened to the public during an open house where every one could see the end result of new construction.
A greenhouse has been built with double energy screens and hanging gutters according to a traditional system. The bell peppers are being harvested by using containers on electric carts which drive automatically to the processing space over an induction line. A large processing space has been built in the new construction to also sort and package products from the Duijnisveld location in Nieuwveen, 9.2 ha. Most of this will be automatic.
