Netherlands: 40 hectare expansion of modern glass at Agriport-area

Currently, almost 40 hectare of new modern glass greenhouses are being constructed at the Dutch horticultural area Agriport in the North of the Netherlands. Grower Kesgro is expanding with 9 hectares and grower Red Harvest expands with 7.5 hectare. Grower Combivliet expands it's operations with another 12.5 hectares, and as you could read in last Wednesdays edition of HortiDaily, Agro Care expands it's operations with another 9.5 hectare. The total acreage of the Agriport site now consist more then 300 hectare of glass. The maximum amount of hectares with glass that Agriport can house is 500-600 hectares.




The big growers at Agriport are working a lot together to optimize their strength. The are all co-owners of an energy-cooperation that takes care of managing their commodities like gas en electricity. Aside of this, quite some packaging jobs are being organized in collaborations between companies, as well as the hiring of the seasonal workers.
