The Netherlands: Four bell pepper nurseries merge into one company, Rainbow Growers Group

Kwekerij de Wieringermeer, Kwekerij Andijk, Kwekerij het Westland, and Powergrow have joined forces, moving forward under one name and as one company. The merger of these four enterprises towards ensuring a strong foundation for the future.

The four companies originate from the Coöperatie Telersvereniging Rainbow, the first recognized growers' association, which was founded by Wim Grootscholten in 1997. In 2013, Coöperatie Rainbow merged into Coöperatie Harvest House, of which the four cultivation companies are current members.

Nearly 100 hectares
Rainbow Growers Group is comprised of a close-knit group of 13 shareholders who have been collaborating for over 25 years. Previously, the four cultivation companies already worked closely together, but as of now, this collaboration has been formalized through a merger. The merger resulted in a bell pepper and pointed pepper nursery, which covers an area of nearly 100 hectares.

Professionalization and continuity
The merger leads to scaling up, risk diversification, increased effectiveness, and further professionalization of cultivation and staff services. It also initiates the inflow and outflow of directors and shareholders. Moreover, employees will have more development and growth opportunities. In this way, the merger also ensures the continuity of the companies. The management team will consist of Patrick Grootscholten, Thimo van Marrewijk, Peter Steentjes, Daaf Steentjes, and Arco Vreugdenhil.
