Sweet corn grows in southern Ukrainian greenhouses

At the greenhouse complex of LLC "SP "PAEK" in southern Ukraine, agronomists continue to nurture vegetable seedlings for open-field cultivation. Alongside early cabbage, the first shoots of sweet corn have emerged.

According to Yuriy Kormyshkin, the owner of LLC "SP "PAEK," the ready seedlings will be transplanted under the plastic film to ensure an early harvest.

"The 'Turbin' variety of sweet corn was sown in the greenhouse on March 2nd, and today we already have shoots. From April 10 to 15, the seedlings will be transplanted into the field under plastic film. By the end of June, the sweet corn will be ready for sale," mentioned Yuriy Kormyshkin.

Sweet corn cultivation ranks among the most profitable ventures in vegetable farming, with profitability reaching 300-400%. A farmer's success hinges on sales tactics, adherence to cultivation techniques, weather conditions, seed uniqueness, and quality.
