On March 5th, Uzbekistan approved measures to boost high-yielding, export-oriented crop cultivation, as reported by The Ministry of Justice.
The resolution entails the specialization of districts in the production of agricultural products for export. Some areas will focus on producing seedlings, while others will focus on their cultivation and processing.
By the end of the year, 54 districts aim to establish experimental sites for crop cultivation by year-end, providing training for residents.
Additionally, new projects for the shock freezing of fruits and vegetables will be implemented in 51 districts specializing in fruit and vegetable production.
Non-collateral loans up to 7315.76 euros will support cultivation projects, excluding crop planting.
Ready-made greenhouses, refrigerated warehouses, and processing facilities will be leased, with purchase options within 12 months.
Furthermore, the preparation of biohumus at home will be added to the list of permitted self-employment activities.
Targeted loans at a 4% higher interest rate than the central bank's base rate will be allocated to support subsidiary, farm, and dehkan economies. The term for gardening, viticulture, lemon growing, greenhouse construction, agricultural machinery procurement, installation of mobile refrigerators, and digging artesian wells will be 7 years.
Customs duties on the import of cultivators, tillers, and mini-tractors will be abolished by 2027.
