The Republic of Dagestan in the Russian Federation annually produces approximately 75,000 tons of greenhouse vegetables, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic.
According to the department's data, the republic harvests about 1.5 million tons of vegetables per year, of which almost a quarter are tomatoes.
"Protected ground in the republic plays a key role in vegetable production, where approximately 75,000 tons of vegetables are produced overall, including a large portion of tomatoes. The expansion of tomato cultivation areas indicates that Dagestani vegetable production continues its active development and growth," stated the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Dagestan.
