First harvest of the new season: "The fresher the product, the more beautiful the end result on the plate"

In early January, young zucchini plants were once again planted at CourgetteFleur Zwinkels, and less than a month later, they have started to bloom. This marks the start of the sale of zucchini flowers, the CourgetteFleur.

The moment each year when the first flowers start to bloom is always beautiful, say growers Johan and Guus. "The bumblebees quickly find the flowers and facilitate the pollination. The first orders for CourgetteFleur are already coming in. They are harvested and immediately vacuum-sealed and delivered to guarantee the best possible freshness and quality. We can certainly say that the 2024 season has started, and we're striving for another good year."

The growers say that the zucchini flowers will quickly reach chefs who will create stunning and delicious dishes with them.

The Fioretta, the male flower of the zucchini, will be available by the end of this week. The yellow Fleur and Mini Courgettes will follow in 10 days.

CourgetteFleur Zwinkels does not accumulate stocks. The flowers bloom for only one day. "Early in the morning, everything is harvested fresh to order and immediately flow-packed. The lines are short so that the product can quickly reach its final destination. The fresher the product, the better the final result on the plate."

The products are GlobalGAP, GRASP, and PlanetProof certified. Great efforts are made to deliver a product as impeccable as possible and with a good shelf life. "Only then can we be sure of delivering a top-quality product that we can be proud of."

In addition to the zucchini specialties, CourgetteFleur Zwinkels also produces the standard green and yellow zucchinis. These are available in various sizes and packaging formats.

"Our company manages the entire process, from cultivation to sale, thereby keeping the lines short. We stay in direct contact with our customers, which is good for everyone, and we try our best to meet our customer's wishes. It is important for the supply and demand to stay in balance throughout the campaign. Our sales team is closely involved in the production, harvesting, packaging, and planning, which entails benefits in terms of availability, freshness, and quality."
