Kazakhstan's Ministry of Agriculture plans to introduce subsidies for greenhouse farms for electricity and gas expenses

Kazakhstan's Ministry of Agriculture plans to introduce subsidies for greenhouse farms for electricity and gas expenses during the off-season. A mandatory requirement for obtaining subsidies will be the availability of a certificate of compliance with production technologies.

A national standard for farm greenhouses has been approved for the implementation of the project, which came into effect on May 1, 2023.

Currently, the ministry has developed the corresponding amendments to the subsidy rules.

In the past 3 years, the area of farm greenhouses has decreased by 62 hectares. This is due to the high-cost price of the produced goods and the business's low profitability. Increasing the profitability of closed-ground vegetable production is only possible by reducing production costs.
