Growers and Hermadix shading agents develop a new coating for peppers

Dutch growers Bergpeppers, Vijverberg peppers and manufacturer Hermadix shading agents will also work together in 2014. The cooperation was started in 2012 with the goal to develop a coating for peppers. In 2013 the first tests were done and positive test results were achieved.

Despite of the good results Hermadix shading agents decided not to go commercial in 2014 with the new coating, D-GREE. Growers were happy with the results of D-GREE, but the opinion of Hermadix shading agents was that it even could better and cheaper. For 2014 D-GREE will be available on request.

Hermadix shading agents believes that cooperation leads to the best products. Next to cooperation with growers there is also the cooperation with Dr. Ir. Sander Hogewoning from Plantlighting who will measure light levels and plantactivity. Former pepper grower ies Bos will act as a adviser. The unique combination of parties will lead to a unique coating, D-GREE.
