Ethylene gas management is paramount in growth chambers, greenhouses, fruit and flower storage facilities, controlled atmosphere environments, and Modified Atmosphere Packaging services. The F-900 provides fast, sensitive and portable ethylene detection for precise ethylene management anywhere, from large-scale storage operations to 3 mL samples of gas. This update advances Felix Instruments' leadership role in Gas Instrumentation by providing commercial produce management and quality assurance processes with usable, flexible and affordable ethylene management.
New Features:
- GC Emulation Mode enables users to accurately measure ethylene in small volumes of gas in the manner of traditional GC analysis. The Flow Inject Analysis Port attachment (patent pending) analyses small gas samples supplied via syringe.
- Measures gas samples from 3 – 13 mL down to 500 ppb sensitivity (as compared to 1 ppb resolution for larger samples).
- Ideal for Modified Atmosphere Packaging equipment or services which monitor small quantities of gas.
- WIFI capability for wireless data collection.
Highlights/Key Facts:
- The F-900 Ethylene Gas Analyzer was recently awarded the 2014 Gases & Instrumentation International Golden Gas Award for Gas Analysis and Detection: www.gasesmag.com/PRESS_Release_2014_Awards.pdf (PDF)
- The F-900 measures 3 gases crucial to fruit ripening management: Ethylene (C2H4) O2, and CO2
- The F-900 provides Gas Chromatograph precision (ethylene concentration down to 10 ppb in air) using an electrochemical sensor, making the technology portable and more affordable.
- The F-900 incorporates two new patented technologies: PolarCept filtering technology to mitigate interfering gases, and Flow Inject Analysis port technology allowing small sample analysis.
Michael Larman, General Manager of Felix Instruments: “Gas analysis is no longer only for research labs and universities; now any commercial business can have data immediately to meet their schedule. This should be a boon for quality assurance and maintenance groups, produce packing houses, and modified atmosphere packaging suppliers (MAPs)."
