Seedling production facility opened up in Demre, Antalya

The opening of the seedling production facility in Demre, Antalya has been attended by the local mayor.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, one of the owners of the company Ibrahim Cengiz: “Demre is the town where greenhouse production has first started in Turkey. It is also still one of the main vegetable greenhouse production areas. This facility we have set up will be the first modern seedling production facility in the whole of Demre. We will use the most advanced technological methods and produce seedlings for the growers in the region. We believe we are fulfilling an important need in the region.”

Local mayor Murat Uz: “The lack of a modern seedling production facility was something we were missing in this area. It did not make a lot of sense that we did not have a seedling production facility considering that this is an area where there is a lot of greenhouse production. Thankfully, these local entrepreneurs are starting up this facility which I hope will be supported by the local growers. This facility will also create employment for 25 – 30 people”

The facility is set up in an area of 100,000 square feet and has the annual production capacity of 7.5 million seedlings. Main seedlings which will be grown in this facility will be tomato, pepper, eggplant and cucumber.
