Uzbekistan starts growing bananas

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his working visit to Andijan region got acquainted with the opening of a banana and tomato greenhouse, the President's press service said.

A Limited Liability Company organized the greenhouse using the method of hydroponics, installed equipment from the Turkish company Asya Modern Serachilik.

The head of state got acquainted with the cooling and watering system with computerized control.

The greenhouse with an area of 2 ha grows bananas. 250-300 tons of harvest are expected to be received in the first season. Another greenhouse occupies 1 ha and is expected to provide 300 tons of tomatoes.

The greenhouses provide more than 30 permanent jobs.
