OPI became available in September 2017 and was presented at SMAU Berlin 2016, World Food India 2017 and at the World Agri-Tech Summit 2017 in San Francisco (the only non-American product).
StartupItalia chose Evja as one of the 100 best startups of 2017, the only representative of the smart agriculture sector.
"We designed an innovative system based on sensors and algorithms to help producers optimise resources and use fewer chemicals."
Sensors are installed in the fields to monitor critical factors such as humidity, temperature, sun radiation and leaf wetting in real time. Then they transmit the information to the central system through the innovative LoRa network. The software was entirely developed by Evja. Data are processed using forecasting models that help growers prevent the onset of diseases and use water resources more efficiently.
Evja has also developed the first model available in Europe to prevent fresh-cut downy mildew and is introducing forecasting models for tomatoes and courgettes.
"We have presented our products at national and international events and currently supply leading companies on the Italian fresh produce sector."
