Russia: Sverdlovsk greenhouse project enters second phase

“We are planning to introduce step-by-step governmental support and to pay special attention to the development of agriculture in the Ural. The Ural federative district has all the capacity for providing itself with high-quality organic produce”, announced the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Mr. Jambulat Hatuov during his visit to a series of agricultural complexes of the region, which belong to UGMK-Agro.

It is expected that after the second phase of the project is launched, the enterprise will be able to meet the regional demand in greenhouse vegetables by 40%. According to the General Director of UGMK-Agro, Mr. Ilia Bondarev, the enterprise produces overall over 15 thousand tons of greenhouse vegetables.

The first phase of the project, valued at 72 million euros, was launched at the end of 2017.
