CAN (NS): Acadian Seaplants establishes subsidiary company in India

Acadian Seaplants continues its expansion into the Indian market. The company has established its own subsidiary company in India, a new facility for processing its proven biostimulants, powered by the Acadian BioSwitch™ technology, and its own distribution network.

The subsidiary company, Acadian Seaplants India Private Limited, is an answer to the growing demand for quality, natural biostimulants and bionutritional products that increase crop yield, quality and farmers’ return on investment in a sustainable way. In addition, Acadian Seaplants India Private Limited has opened a processing facility in collaboration with Standard Pesticides at Vadodara, Gujarat, to better meet the needs of farm owners.

The biostimulant and bionutritional products are available to the farmers across the country through ASL’s own exclusive provincial distribution network. The establishment of the Indian subsidiary company, processing facility and distribution network lays the foundation for ASL’s long-term strategy and reflect its commitment to developing pure, natural biostimulants for the Indian market and forming strong, lasting relationships with growers, distribution partners and key partners in India.

Jean-Paul Deveau, President & CEO of Acadian Seaplants Limited Canada said, “Rapid economic growth and increasing population is demanding more from the farms than ever before in terms of quantity, quality, safety, health and nutrition, what has resulted in intensive agricultural practices. There is an ever-pressing need and demand for agricultural products that are safe for the environment. On the other hand, we are facing depleted soil conditions and adverse impact of climate change, which are multiplying the challenges in agriculture. It has become imperative to grow more food while using environmentally sustainable technologies. There is no other choice.”

Acadian Plant Health™ (APH™), the agricultural division of Acadian Seaplants Limited is the world leader in biostimulant and bionutritional solutions derived from Ascophyllum nodosum, scientifically proven to increase crop yields and return on farmers’ investment, with environmental responsibility being top of mind. Ken MacDonald, Vice President Global Sales of Acadian Plant Health™, said, “Acadian products are a big boon for Indian agricultural community and support the Indian government’s initiatives of doubling farmers’ income by 2022 and improving soil health sustainably.” Acadian Seaplants has been recognized as a leading Canadian business and received numerous awards and recognitions.

“For the last 36 years, we have been listening to the challenges that farmers are facing in growing their crops,” added Jean-Paul Deveau. “A key differentiating factor of our Acadian BioSwitch™ technology is that it has a strong foundation of research and science; it’s supported by researchers from around the world and it’s a proven technology that works where it matters most – in the field.” APH™’s agricultural products include Stimplex®, Toggle® Plus, PromOcean™, AscoMax™ and SoliGro™ GR, all powered by the unique Acadian BioSwitch™ technology. All these products optimize plant performance from seed to harvest by improving plant establishment, nutrition, as well as stress management, and have been used as soil and foliar inputs on over 70 crops in more than 80 countries.
