Social media celebrates thousands of #PeopleInFarming

Today, the NFU started an action to flood Twitter with images of #PeopleInFarming to help show how valuable the industry is to the UK. As part of a new campaign, they celebrate the work 476,000 people do on Britain’s farms and highlight its achievements. Also horticultural producers show their works.

People from across the UK are taking to Twitter to post videos and pictures explaining what part they play in feeding the nation, using the hashtag #PeopleInFarming. Currently 302,000 people are employed in the ag sector in England. Horticulture is the most labour intensive sector with 8.7 people per holding.
