AU: Invasive stink bug found in western Sydney inside Italian cargo

Those living in the Glendenning area were warned to keep an eye out for a invasive pest that made its way into Australia through cargo from Italy, thewest.com.au reports. The invasive stink bug hails from east Asia and could "severely impact agriculture industries," the agriculture department says. It feeds on many fruits and vegetables including tomatoes, apples, peaches, green beans among others. The container containing the bugs, found in western Sydney has been fumigated, but as a precaution officials want local growers to remain vigilant just in case any escaped.
