Marijuana at Village Farms: Even their stocks get high

The news that Canadian greenhouse grower Village Farms is stepping into the marijuana business did not let their publicly traded stocks go unaffected. Needle moving action was spotted in Village Farms International Inc (VFFIF) on Wednesday, as shares saw an increase of 34.75%.



On Wednesday, the opening price of their stocks was 1.90 CAD, peaking at 2.84 CAD about 45 minutes after opening of the trade. The stocks closed at 2.25 CAD, resulting in an increase of 18.42%. An all-time high for the tomato grower, whose shares have never been over the 2 CAD dollar point before.
