UK: IGS completes ground works for indoor farm

Intelligent Growth Solutions has recently completed the ground works for its vertical growth facility at the James Hutton Institute near Dundee and is looking forward to commencing the superstructure build.

BHC Limited, a specialist steel construction company, will be on site later this month to erect the exoskeleton of the vertical towers ready for the internal fit-out by IGS’ team of engineers in a few weeks’ time.

Douglas Elder, Project Manager, said “This is a milestone in IGS’ vertical farming journey to date and the facility will be the platform from which to demonstrate our unique and novel methods for Total Controlled Environment Agriculture (TCEA). It will build on the proof-of-concept and prototype trials successfully carried out at our Guardbridge site.”
