KNE Certis signs distribution agreement with Nufarm

After reaching an important agreement earlier this year with Nufarm Europe, KNE Certis has taken over responsibility for the exclusive distribution of certain Nufarm products in Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Albania for a five year term.

In August 2016 Certis Europe (a subsidiary of Mitsui & Co. Ltd., Tokyo, Japan) and K & N Efthymiadis (Thessaloniki, Greece) announced the creation of a new company, KNE Certis (owned 70% K & N Efthymiadis and 30% Certis Europe). This joint venture brings the experience, expertise and resources of the two companies to the development, registration, marketing and distribution of crop protection products in South Eastern Europe and extends the market presence of both companies in the region.

Nufarm, based in Australia, is a producer of plant protection products with a total turnover of US$2.8 billion in 2016 and a presence in more than 100 countries. In Greece 10 people from Nufarm will join KNE Certis majority shareholder K&N Efthymiadis, under the leadership of former Nufarm General Manager, Dimitris Benakis.

The agreement is expected to add turnover of about 13 million Euros for KNE Certis and to contribute to an increase of up to 30% in volume of production and packaging of plant protection products by K & N Efthymiadis. KNE Certis will offer a full range of products and services for key crops in the growing South Eastern Europe market.

KNE Certis CEO, Vassos Efthymiadis, commented: “This move will benefit producers by offering integrated solutions, which are now a prerequisite for the effective support of the industry and farmers’ incomes. The agreement creates the conditions for us to play an influential role in the field of agricultural supplies across South Eastern Europe and also involves local added value and employment growth.”
The parties declare that they will fully comply with their respective obligations under all competition laws.
