China: Hortiflorexpo continues to grow

Hortiflorexpo IPM Shanghai will register several records in 2017: For the first time, around 800 exhibitors (a plus of around 29 percent in comparison with the last fair in Shanghai) will present themselves in three fair halls on an area of nearly 40,000 square metres. A rise of more than 50 percent can be reported here, too. The trade fair for plants, horticultural technology, floristry and garden features in China will take place in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from May 10 to 12.

Where 621 exhibitors introduced their newest products and innovations to an international trade public on an area of 26,000 square metres last time, around 800 firms will present their portfolios on nearly 40,000 square metres this year.

Colombia and Ecuador will again take part in Hortiflorexpo IPM Shanghai with official national booths. They will bring with them roses in particular qualities, colours and shapes.

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food will honour the fair by promoting the participation of German exhibitors. 13 firms will show premium products "Made in Germany" at a joint booth which, in 2017, will present itself larger than ever before, i.e. with 216 square metres. At the booth, a top-class German florist will introduce fashionable flowery trends in live demonstrations.

On May 9, Messe Essen and its Chinese partner will offer international exhibitors at IPM a half-day horticultural tour in order to give them the possibility of gaining comprehensive insights into Chinese horticulture.
