Demain la Terre adds new member, certifies new product

The Association Demain la Terre (Tomorrow for the Earth) has announced a new member the certification of a new product under the 'Demain la Terre' Charter.

Picvert has joined the The Association 'Demain la Terras' its newest member. For the past 25 years, the Picvert company has grown thanks to the production of curly lettuce, young salad shoots, lamb's lettuce and, more recently, mini-vegetables.

Picvert has many projects including continuous improvement to increase shelf-life, as well as the development of a "zero pesticide" range by 2020.

Jacques Deramecourt, Chairman of Picvert, said: "I want to join the 'Demain la Terre' Association as the issues of our companies and our strategies come together. I wish to leave to the generations that will follow us companies that have taken full measure of environmental issues. Antoine de Saint-Exupery said "we do not inherit the land of our parents, we borrow it from our children". Being member of the Association will allow us to share our ideas, to unite our teams and to communicate on our actions."

The company reinforces the diversity of the productions already present within the Association. It is already working on implementing the 'Demain la Terre' standard to quickly offer consumers products in compliance with it.

Along with the addition of a new member the association has also certified a new product under 'Demain la Terre', Kultive's cucumber. This comes in addition to the range of products already certified (apple, pear, melon, tomato, condiments, red fruits, carrot, leek, red beet). The Charter is obtained after an audit by an independent body and validated by the Control Committee, which process re-enforces all its credibility.

Didier Foulon, Chairman of Kulfive, testifies: "Since last December, we have been certified 'Demain la Terre' for our cucumber productions, it is a pride for us to be part of this process for future generations."

Kultive joined 'Demain la Terre' Association in September 2015 and has since prepared its 22 cucumber growers for the 'Demain la Terre certification. The volume of certified cucumber is over 22,000 tons.
