Greenhouses help Afghan farmers to grow in severe climate

As the Bamyan province is located in a very elevated area (average of 2,500 meters above the sea level), the climatic conditions are quite severe. Short summers are accompanied with low overall temperature, but on the other hand, Central Afghanistan enjoys an average of 300 sunny days throughout the year.

In such conditions, the use of greenhouses, especially for growing vegetables, makes a lots of sense and it is all the more surprising that such a practice is not wide spread.
