Climate chamber MyGrowthRoom attracts attention at GreenTech 2016

Nijssen’s MyGrowthRoom had a successfull market introduction at GreenTech, the international trade fair for horticulture technology in Amsterdam. MyGrowthRoom facilitates growers and researchers to efficiently optimise growth recipes and test new LED solutions. Among others, universities, seed breeders, lighting manufacturers and vertical farming parties showed interest in the comprehensive capabilities. During all three exhibition days, trade visitors showed great interest in the new mobile walk-in climate chamber. With visitors from China, USA, Australia and Mexico it attracted truly worldwide attention.

Suiting market needs
Reactions during GreenTech indicated that Nijssen provides a timely solution with MyGrowthRoom. "Several visitors indicated they were specifically looking for a test facility like MyGrowthRoom" says Edwin Snabel, Business Unit Manager Climate Technology at Nijssen. "Most visitors wanted to use MyGrowthRoom for applications in plant growth and LED lighting, but also, for example, insect breeders responded enthusiastically. The broad range of applications, the plug and play concept and mobile design make MyGrowthRoom very attractive to many parties. The growth room has a flexible interior set-up and can be used with any lighting and cultivation system. "



Distinctive climate technology
It became apparent that by the innovative climate technology, MyGrowthRoom also distinguishes itself from other mobile vertical farming solutions on the market. Integrated cooling and drying
Two air coolers take care of the integrated cooling, heating and drying of the cultivation room. This reduces the required cooling capacity. A separate air dryer is no longer needed. The integrated regulation allows for better manageable climate conditions in a broad temperature and RH range. By recovery and storage of the radiant heat from the LED lighting further energy savings are realised.

Also applicable in production environment
The various refrigeration innovations save up to 30 per cent of the energy use for cooling. These energy saving solutions can also be applied to a larger scale production environment. With the option for refrigerant propane in a walk-in climate chamber Nijssen has a world first. Due to the low-energy design, MyGrowthRoom only needs a small cooling capacity, requiring a minimum amount of propane. MyGrowthRoom is also available in a design with a chemical refrigerant.






Comprehensive control software
During GreenTech visitors had the opportunity to discover MyGrowthRoom and its advanced control. With their own smartphone visitors were able to control the intensity of the LED lighting for each color. The recipe management and extensive reporting capabilities attracted much attention. Several existing customers indicated they would like to expand their Nijssen control software with the presented additional opportunities.

Filacell pre-cool system
Several other solutions that Nijssen presented, attracted considerable attention as well. , such as the software module for ULO-/DCA-storage and the Filacell pre-cool system, facilitating rapid pre-cooling with a constant humidity of about 99%.
