Russia: Chelyabinsk agrocomplex expands with 1,000 hectares

The Chelyabinsk agrocomplex, known for its greenhouse vegetables under the Churilova brand, has acquired the production facilities of JSC Russkiye Ovoshi (Russian vegetables) and will soon add potatoes, carrots, cabbage and courgette to its range.

On an area of around 1,000 hectares they plan to grow field vegetables, as well as establish seasonal greenhouses.

Today there are already 30 locations working on a trial basis for the agro-firm network, by the summer of this year their number will increase to 50.

"The brand ‘Vitaminy s grydki’ (Vitamins from the ground) has become a hallmark of the Chelyabinsk region. For several years, Churilova has been growing cucumbers, tomatoes and herbs, using advanced technologies," says CEO of the agrocomplex Churilova, Alla Lebed.

According to Lebed, the company’s expansion of production has prompted them to open retail stores. "There is a clear need to provide customers with a wide range of vegetable crops," says Lebed.
