Semi-closed greenhouse makes organic agriculture even more sustainable

With over 6.5 hectares of Ultra Clima greenhouse in Sonora, Mexico and 8 hectares of Ultra Clima greenhouse in Arizona, Wholesum Harvest is one of the most advanced USDA certified organic greenhouse growers in North America.

Since 1930, the Crisantes family is growing organic vegetables with passion and innovation. For more than 20 years they are in possession of USDA certification for their organic greenhouse tomatoes. By implementing "environmental internship" and social responsibility to employees through the Fair Trade program, Wholesum goes even a step further than just the strict standards of the USDA Certified Organic criteria

A semi closed greenhouse like the Ultra Clima from KUBO was for them a key solution to make organic agriculture even more sustainable; it is known for its potential to generate higher yields with less inputs. The semi closed system keeps pests outside, while useful beneficial insects are kept inside. As well as this the greenhouse requires less natural energy resources.

"We have choosen for the Ultra-Clima concept because it works very well for us', said Theojary Crisantes of Wholesum Harvest. "In our search for higher yield and sustainable production, the concept of the Ulta Clima has proven itself to us. For us its an obvious choice."
