Belgium: Tomato Masters wants to double acreage in the next 5 years

The Belgian growers at Tomato Masters are growing at several locations; they have three hectares in Nevele. At another location the tomato growers currently have 10,5 hectares. But they have ambitious plans to double this acreage within the next five years.

Tomato masters is owned by grower Dirk Vlaemynck. His sons Tim and Tom have also joined the company. Their produce is being marketed to retailers via the auction of Veiling Hoogstraaten. "Our focus remains on the domestic market," said Tim Vlaemynck. "The Belgian consumers want to pay more for quality tomatoes and local distribution is also more ecological."
