Hortilux introduces new line of LED products

Hortilux presented its new line of HortiLed products at the IPM in Essen.The HortiLed line comprises three products: HortiLed Top, HortiLed Inter and HortiLed Multi. These three new products, all with a distinctive Hortilux design, each have their own field of application.

HORTILED Top
HORTILED Top is a versatile LED fixture that is suitable for top lighting of all types of crops. The fixture has an efficiency level of 2.7 µmol/Joule, while the current 1000 watt HPS products achieve only 1.9. This implies a 42% higher efficiency compared to HPS which results in significant energy savings. This higher efficiency also means a significantly lower production of heat, making it possible to light crops at a higher intensity with a minimum impact on the greenhouse temperature. The fixture’s special design ensures optimum passive cooling and easy installation.

HORTILED Inter
The HortiLed Inter has been specially designed for highwire cultivation of greenhouse vegetables. The fixture is intended for installation within the crop to supplement the top lighting. With 2.63 µmol/Joule, the HortiLed Inter provides more than 10% more light per m² than comparable products. The HortiLed Inter has a reflector design that ensures that the light is distributed on the top side of the leaves. The HortiLed Inter is suitable for use together with HPS in hybrid syst ems.

HORTILED Multi
The HortiLed Multi has been specially developed for multi layer cultivation, growth chambers, air-conditioned containers, tissue cultivation and dimmable experimental set-ups. Efficiency levels of up to 2.5 µmol/Joule can be achieved, depending on the light spectrum. This makes the HortiLed Multi 60% more energy-efficient than fluorescent lighting. The pluggable HortiLed Multi is available in two lengths of 120 and 150 cm. The fixture can be supplied with one colour or a combination of colours. In case of one colour per fixture, dimming of each light colour is available as an option. The colour spectrum, light intensity and lighting time can be controlled with the HortiLed dim controller.

New generation of LED fixtures
The coming weeks the new generation of HortiLed fixtures will be presented at the IPM Essen, Fruit Logistica and Tuinbouw Relatie Dagen.
