US (TX): Private pesticide applicator training set for July 15 in Midland
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will conduct a Private Pesticide Applicator Training from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. July 15 at the AgriLife Extension office in Midland County, 2445 E. U.S. Highway 80 in Midland.
Rebel Royall, AgriLife Extension agent in Glasscock County who will oversee the training, said AgriLife Extension conducts the prerequisite training that must be completed prior to testing for a private applicator pesticide license.
Texas Department of Agriculture is the regulatory agency that administers the actual test and issues the license to individuals meeting all requirements.
“The training is designed to provide pesticide safety education while preparing individuals for the required private pesticide applicators test,” he said. “This license will enable private applicators to purchase and apply state limited use and federally restricted chemicals on their property or agricultural lands they manage.”
Individual registration is $50. The fee includes the Private Applicator and Texas Department of Agriculture Laws and Regulations manuals.
