First Veggie & Fruit Mexico 2015 took place in Mazatlan:

Mexico: New conference creates balance between suppliers and purchasers

With the aim of improving the training of the horticultural and fruit sector and forming strategic alliances, on june 18th state authorities, municipal authorities, horticultural producers and sellers, were present at the opening of Veggie and Fruit Mexico 2015 which was held in Mazatlan’s Convention Center.


Hilda Sachida Inukai, Director of Economic Development, on behalf of the Mayor, Carlos Gonzalez Felton, stressed that Veggie and Fruit is a sound strategy to potentiate training in the sector and create linkages and strategic alliances for the production and sale of products.



Juan Manuel Figueroa Fuentes, Director of the liaison office project in Sinaloa said it is working hard to increase vegetable production and position the state as one of the powers in the production of these foods. He also stressed that the authorities and the Sinaloa producers are working collaboratively to ensure the health and safety of agricultural production in the state.



Juan Carlos Garcia Lopez de Lara, Veggie and Fruit Coordinator, explained that the purpose of this meeting is to create a balance between suppliers and purchasers, to bring together producers and marketers. The program of the event gave an insight in the current and future conditions in the agricultural sector in Mexico and offered lots of opportunities to network.



Apart from the presentations which were given, there was an exhibition area where about 30 companies with different services, such as substrates, greenhouse constructions, biological control, etc., had a stand.
