With their new house style and slogan ‘The pride of Dutch horticulture’, the show’s organisation aims to appeal not only to Dutch growers and breeders but also to international horticulture professionals. “In the horticulture sector, the Netherlands are known to be an innovative country”, so says Project Manager Ramon Schlepers. “In recent years, we have noticed that more and more growers and breeders from abroad are coming over to take a look at our ‘garden.” In the past few years, visitors from e.g. Southern Europe, North America and Asia have visited the trade show.
International collaborations are essential for the horticulture industry of the future, says Schlepers. “In order to successfully do business we have to look beyond borders. Horticulture professionals from all over the world are joining forces at this trade show. They’re sharing knowledge and innovations at their show stands, and during lectures and demonstrations.”
Greenhouse innovations tour
In order to further respond to this interest from abroad, HortiDaily.com and the Horticulture Business Days are organising the High Tech Greenhouse Tour for a second time, a free two-day bus trip. During this trip, a select company will be introduced to the latest developments in greenhouse technique. During the second day of the tour, participants will visit the Horticulture Business Days in Gorinchem. In 2015, horticulture professionals from various countries - France, Zimbabwe, Australia, Canada, Spain and Mexico for example – took part in the first edition of the tour.
