Italy: Local companies in Piedmont produce soil-less strawberries and tomatoes too!

We have found out that there are many small companies in the Torino area that invested in closed-cycle soil-less cultivation systems to:
  • make the most of small areas,
  • avoid problems connected to root disease and crop rotation,
  • reduce fertiliser and water waste,
  • increase yields,
  • harvest cleaner produce,
  • obtain a more uniform production.

In the photo: Daria Ponsi and Nicola Moisy from Bosio Michele.

Daria Ponsi from Bosio Michele explained that their clients come from far away for their Mara de Bois strawberries and beefsteak tomatoes, which they have cultivated with soil-less systems for the past 6 years.

Bosio Michele has been a direct trader for over 10 years and is very well known also for its cherry production. More news on this in the next few weeks.
