Ponic Jobs : the easiest way to find a hydroponics position

As the hydroponics industry continues to grow at an exponential rate, recently launched Ponic Jobs seeks to bridge the gap between industry employers and job seekers. The websites founder, Kyle Barnett, designed the site in response to the difficulties he faced while trying to find a job with a commercial hydroponic grower.

After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, Barnett knew that his true passion was in sustainable food production. When he began searching for a job with a commercial hydroponic farm, he recalls that the process was “difficult, to say the least”. “I remember searching on Google for ‘hydroponic jobs’ and having to sort through so many different ads that weren’t related to commercial farms. I also realized that popular websites like Glassdoor and Craigslist rarely featured the types of positions that I was looking for.”

When Barnett finally landed a job with a commercial hydroponic greenhouse, he soon realized that his employer faced a similar dilemma. “They had a number of openings, particularly for higher level management positions where they needed really qualified candidates. They were finding it extremely challenging to fill these positions. Because of the growing popularity of commercial hydroponics, I knew that there was no shortage of talent in the country. I asked myself ‘How can I connect these two groups of people in a more industry-focused manner than a website like Craigslist?’” That was when the idea of Ponic Jobs came to fruition.

Barnett’s goal is for Ponic Jobs to become the ultimate source of job openings and recruitment for the industry. The site currently features a number of openings from industry-leading companies like Bright Farms and Gotham Greens.

Quick Facts:
• 100% free for both employers and job seekers
• Employers can post openings while job seekers can create a profile and
upload their resume
• The site can be used for job openings related to hydroponics, aquaponics, aeroponics, and urban farming
• Positions involving cannabis are encouraged when they are based in legal states
• To continue the growth of the site, Barnett is actively seeking investment and partnerships
