Netherlands: Heavy winds damage greenhouses and tunnels

Due to heavy winds, many tunnels and greenhouses are damaged in the Netherlands. Mainly growers in South-West of the Netherlands are effected by the heavy weather.









At first sight, weather did not seem to damage many greenhouses. "The reported number of damaged greenhouse was not high, considering the immense power of the spring storm of last Tuesday", says Linneke Baker of Totaal Service Tuinbouw. "Till that night; a gust of wind damaged a greenhouse in Kwintsheul." It is estimated that the wind damaged 250 greenhouse windows. At the moment, they are exact damage will be assessed.
