Bigh interest for Japanese symposiums on greenhouse horticulture in Tokyo

In February 2015 two symposiums were held in Japan, one in Tokyo and one in Osaka. The focus of both symposia was to develop Smart Agriculture and Agricultural Control Technology. The symposiums were organized by the EU Institute in Japan, Kansai (EUIJ-Kansai) & Nippon Electric Control Equipment Industries Association (NECA). With over 200 attendees present on both symposiums it was very successful. GreenQ Japan’s local consultant Mr. Arco van der Hout was present at both symposiums and spoke about the necessity of training and consultancy for high producing cultivation systems in the modern greenhouse horticulture.

Van der Hout stated that his lecture was all about the importance of increasing the knowledge level of Japanese growers so they have the skills to use the technical equipment in the greenhouse. “It is essential for the Japanese growers to see the benefits of training and consultancy and to have the right level of consultancy when investing in a new high-tech greenhouse”, stated van der Hout, local consultant for GreenQ Japan.

GreenQ Japan was founded in April 2014 by DLV Plant-GreenQ in collaboration with the Japanese company Seiwa. GreenQ Japan focuses on advising Japanese horticulture, greenhouse vegetables and floriculture.
