US (NV): Village Farms executive chef consults on Indoor Ag-Con Menu

Indoor Ag-Con is delighted to announce a special addition to its conference menu in the form of -greenhouse grown produce kindly supplied by Village Farms. The Company’s Executive Chef, Darren Brown, will consult with caterers Masterpiece Cuisine to incorporate Village Farm produce into the Indoor Ag-Con menu, and the Company is a lunch sponsor for the event.

Soil-less Greenhouse grower, Village Farms, grows, markets and distributes quality vegetables including tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet bell peppers, and eggplant throughout US and Canada. Its growing methods produce vegetables 365 days a year that are healthier for people and the planet. The Company is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker TSX: VFF.

The Company will also be participating in conference proceedings. Its President & CEO, Michael DeGiglio, will lead a keynote ‘ask me anything’ session on the morning of March 30, 2015, while Vice President of Applied Research, Paul Selina, will join a panel entitled ‘What should we consider in selecting a growing environment?’ on April 1, 2015. Chef Darren Brown will speak on a panel dedicated to chefs on the afternoon of March 30, 2015.

“It’s vital that growers such as Village Farms engage with chefs, and this is why we work so closely with Chef Darren Brown and are pleased to collaborate with Indoor Ag-Con on its menu” commented Mike Degiglio.

‘We’re delighted to be partnering with Village Farms on this initiative, which illustrates once more the increasing importance of sustainable soil-less greenhouse grown produce in the US food supply chain; it’s one way in which we can include fresh, local produce in our conference menu during the winter season” added Nicola Kerslake, founder of Newbean Capital, Indoor Ag-Con’s host.
