The new Argus weather station is built using a rugged casing that protects the sensitive electronics and devices against the worst weather, while delivering high accuracy readings. One of the major enhancements is a new rain sensor that Argus has specially developed for this application. "The new rain sensor is capable of registering the smallest amount of rain." says Yurij, "It can also distinguish between rain, snow, fog, or dew, thanks to a built-in heater that continually dries the sensor surface preventing false readings. The enhanced sensitivity of the rain sensor enables the Argus system to respond to rainfall episodes with increased accuracy, speed, and precision."
The new weather station includes instruments for measuring temperature, wind speed and wind direction. It also features a high precision outdoor light sensor, providing growers with complete outdoor light energy readings in Watts/m2 or Joules. " Most growers prefer this instead of an outdoor PAR-sensor," says Yurij, "since it provides a better indication of the radiant energy affecting indoor temperatures and evapotranspiration within the crop."
The new Argus Weather Station 3 can also include an optional rain accumulation meter. It is listed at $2,600 USD, the same price as the previous model 2 weather station.
