UK: New glasshouse for Frank Rudd & Son’s

CambridgeHOK are proud to announce they have been commissioned to build a modern new glasshouse facility for family owned tomato growers Frank Rudd & Son’s. The turnkey project will be built on a recently acquired green field site opposite Rudd’s existing nursery in Cheshire England. A vertical heat store tank will be built adjacent to the state of the art energy centre which will also house a gas CHP. The power plant will provide heat and CO2 to both the new and existing glasshouse. CHOK’s Director Ross Hibbs said he was delighted that the Rudd family had chosen their company to build what amounted to a seriously significant investment despite strong competition from Dutch builders. Hibbs said “I think this investment by the Rudd’s, demonstrates courage and confidence in the opportunities available to forward thinking growers in the UK”.

The build is expected to commence end of October 2014
