British raspberries to be grown in greenhouses in the Cherkasy region of Ukraine

Construction of greenhouses in the Cherkasy region for growing berries took almost a year. The grant project was long-awaited, having faced delays in coordinating with the ministry and complications with parts shipment across the border. Nevertheless, raspberry seedlings from the United Kingdom will soon be planted in the greenhouses.

This was reported by the "Ukrasadprom" association.

Almost a year ago, on March 24, 2023, an agreement was signed with the official dealer of British company Haygrove in Ukraine, 'IT-Links Service,' to develop a project for installing modular greenhouses for berry cultivation. The project was completed by April, followed by nearly four months of negotiations with the ministry. It wasn't until September that an agreement was finally reached for the supply of Pioneer greenhouse films. Two months later, Haygrove had the ordered products ready for Ukrainians. However, due to border issues, the greenhouses arrived only in early February of this year. Assembly took less than a month, and they were swiftly prepared for operation.

Petro Yatsechko, director of the Chkalov Agricultural Production Cooperative, announced, "We've recently finalised an agreement for the supply of top-quality planting material with English producers and anticipate the arrival of raspberry seedlings."
