Newly launched Pepper AGV answers labour challenges

Since the acquisition of Buitendijk-Slaman B.V., Berkvens Greenhouse Mobility has adjusted its strategy, analyzed the joint product portfolio, and started a trajectory for the portfolios' renewal and expansion. The development of the Pepper AGV and other related pepper products is part of this trajectory.

A response to sector developments
Intending to create new opportunities in the pepper market, Berkvens Greenhouse Mobility added the Pepper AGV to its portfolio. According to the company, the Pepper AGV's design and functionalities are a response to the process of automatization, and the issues of labor availability and labor savings in the horticultural sector. The company's team elaborates: "The biggest development lies in the platform around the containers. We have designed it in such a way that we can flexibly respond to the harvesting needs of every pepper grower".

Time-saving goals
By introducing the Pepper AGV, The Berkvens Greenhouse Mobility aims to save harvesting and transportation time while improving product quality. In addition, the company strived to minimize the product's service time.

A development step
Arie Meeuwissen (CEO) and Ton van Hout (R&D) say: "With the Pepper AGV, we are not only taking a step forward in efficiency and automation but also providing sustainable solutions for growers striving for improved harvest quality and labor savings." Ton adds, "We can deliver the Pepper AGV in combination with buffer and tilting systems. These systems seamlessly integrate with sorting systems. Moreover, we can connect to existing buffer and tilting systems."

The Pepper Single AGV will be showcased for the first time at Horticontact in Gorinchem, at stand C113.
