Our client is an innovation led, creative and forward -thinking technology developer. This is a true entrepreneurial business looking to bring technology to better process produce, naturally. Having successfully launched a generation of food processing technology which is now used around the world, this business is focused on continuing improvement of their existing technology as well as busy working on new and exciting solutions. Due to business growth, a new food manufacturing site (based in Tasmania AUSTRALIA) is being scoped for greenfield development. This role will be responsible for project managing this site’s development up to commissioning stage followed by ongoing management of the site.


About you:

You have proven track record in successfully managing food manufacturing site/s in Site Management/ Factory Management or General Management capacity.

You have tertiary qualifications in with 10 years + experience.

You are a strong leader with the ability to select, train and develop effective teams.

You have experience in establishing and managing facility’s Key Performance Indicators which focus on Safety, Quality, Service and Cost.

You have strong experience of implementation and management of Sales and Operation Planning, Demand forecasting and Inventory management.

You have passion for food innovation, and experience in the dairy industry


About the role:

As the General Manager of the facility, you will be responsible for

Recruitment, training and development of production employees

Establishing and driving strong safety culture on site

Manage and oversee Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems on site

Planning, organising and managing optimum day to day operations to achieve production and sales targets.

Effectively managing production and despatch schedules to achieve order fulfilment KPIs

Close management of operating budget and ensure costs are kept within budgets

Tight control of raw material inventory to reduce working capital.

Managing and successfully completing third party food safety audits, ensuring full compliance and no major non-conformances.
