Business Development and Account Manager
Established in 1955, Meyers Farms is Niagara-on-the-Lake's (Ontario, Canada) premiere choice for quality flowers and fresh fruit. With an established/modern greenhouse facility and accompanying farms, as well as our own fleet of trucks, we have grown steadily through hard work, a commitment to quality, and the fostering of our horticultural and agricultural expertise.
We are seeking a full-time Business Development and Account Manager for a position with the sales team. The successful candidate for this role will work closely with our planning, production, sales, purchasing, and logistics teams, to deliver the utmost in support and service excellence to the organization and its customers.
The successful candidate must be motivated, enthusiastic, and a self-starter who can work both independently and in a team environment. Strong customer interaction skills along with the ability to adhere to tight deadlines are key requirements of the role. Knowledge of the greenhouse industry would be beneficial.

Business Development and Account Manager
Summary:

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Business and sales development with established client base and delivery of proven influence, leadership and communications.
- Ability to set up customer buying programs and working closely with external suppliers and vendors.
- Develop and/or maintain relationships with key clients and uncover market opportunities.
- Build sales and marketing programs with product lines that builds sales for our customers throughout the entire year.
- Develop relationships and work with outside vendors to source product on a contractual and/or as needed basis.
- Ability to develop a deep understanding of the industry both internally at Meyers as well as externally for our customers and their market.
- True entrepreneurial spirit with a passionate ambition to contribute and win as a team.
- Interest in marketing and branding of ideas and initiatives.
- Ability to travel short term and possess required passport and documentation to travel outside of Canada.
Education:
- Post secondary diploma or degree, preferably in Sales or Marketing, Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
Qualities, Skills and Experience:
- Post-Secondary diploma in business or related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 3-5 years of experience in a business development, sales and marketing function providing direct communications and reports to leadership group.
- Greenhouse or related horticulture experience an asset.
Strong organizational and proven efficiency habits and work ethic. - Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and internet applications
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new programs quickly.
- Developed numeracy skill, budgets and detail orientation.
- Organizational, time management and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure with competing deadlines.
- Superior communication, negotiation and customer service skills.
- Flexibility and initiative to undertake various duties and roles.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to sit for long hours in a controlled open concept office environment while focusing on a computer screen
- Well-lit, well-ventilated office environment
- Average 42.5 hours/week
- Periodic overtime required
- Periods of high heat and humidity or cold in the warehouse and/or greenhouse
