What are the water tanks used for?
These water tanks are used to store water for a nursery where sweet potato plants are grown through tissue culture. This is an advanced technique in which young plants are multiplied in a sterile environment. China is the world's largest producer of sweet potatoes and more and more regions, even outside traditional growing areas, are investing in modern technologies like tissue culture to improve yield and quality. The installed water tanks in this modern greenhouse facility are used for different purposes, including the storage of clean water, nutrient solutions and retrieved water.

Water plays a crucial role in horticultural production, as its quality and characteristics directly affect plant growth and overall yields. Metal water tanks help controlling water quality because they offer a sealed system that allows precise control over water parameters like temperature, pH and nutrient levels. The water tanks ensure the water is in the exact conditions needed for each specific cultivation type and stage. Especially in tissue culture precise control over water quality is crucial, as even small variations can affect plant growth.
Properties of the water tanks
The water tanks are 3,04 meters high and have different diameters. As lining material ENPEX FPP 0,60 was used, one of the most commonly used lining materials. All the five water tanks are covered with a tensioned anti algae cover, minimalizing algae growth and preserving the water quality.
