Uzbekistan targets greenhouse emissions in Tashkent region

The Ministry of Ecology and Environmental Protection of Uzbekistan has proposed measures to reduce air pollution specifically from greenhouses in Tashkent city and Tashkent region. The draft decree submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers focuses on modernizing greenhouse operations to minimize environmental impact.

Planned actions include replacing outdated heating boilers with energy-efficient and eco-friendly systems, and transitioning greenhouses to alternative fuels that eliminate coal use. The initiative also encourages the installation of dust and gas cleaning equipment to control emissions directly at the source.

Financial support mechanisms, including grants, are proposed to assist greenhouse operators in upgrading infrastructure, implementing emission control systems, and installing automated air monitoring stations.
