There's always something happening at Hoogweg Paprikakwekerijen, the Dutch pepper grower. New greenhouses are being built, while the existing ones are constantly being improved. Recently, another section of the company's site in Luttelgeest underwent renovation, continuing the large-scale modernization efforts that began in 2024.
A key part of this second phase was the transformation of a 10-hectare tomato greenhouse that Hoogweg recently purchased from neighboring grower RedStar. The conversion work was carried out by Mustang Demolition, which has shared some impressive photos and statistics from the project.
In 2024, Mustang completed the first phase of renovations, overhauling 22 hectares of greenhouse space in just one and a half weeks. This year, phase two added another 32 hectares, bringing the total renovated area to 54 hectares.

During the project, the Mustang Demolition team removed and cleared away an enormous amount of greenhouse material. Altogether, they rolled up 211 kilometers of growing gutters, dismantled 425 kilometers of heating pipes, and took down 168,000 pipe rail supports and long beams.
At the former RedStar location, all the hanging systems for the growing gutters were detached, collected, and removed, leaving behind a completely empty greenhouse floor now ready for ground leveling and preparation for the next stage of construction.

In addition to its work for Hoogweg Paprikakwekerijen, Mustang Demolition is active at various other sites throughout the Netherlands. During the crop rotation season, the company focuses on renovating and optimizing greenhouses across the country, ensuring that growers are fully prepared for a fresh, productive growing season.
